Ford Motor Company is an American automotive brand that first introduced methods for large scale production of passenger cars and large scale management of industrial workforce by using typical assembly lines and these methods later came to be known as Fordism. Ford produces a wide range of vehicles from compact passenger cars to heavy duty pick up trucks. Headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan (USA) the company was established by Henry Ford, an American industrialist,on 16th June 1903. The company markets its automobiles under the Ford brand and the most luxury vehicles under the Lincoln brand. The Ford family has been described as the most important industrial company in the history of USA. Presently Ford is the second largest US based auto maker and the fifth largest in the world on the basis of total sales in 2010. The company has been bestowed with various national and international level honors including the prestigious Autocar ASEAN'S car of the year award in 2013 for its pick up truck. Presently Ford has 40 dedicated dealers located throughout Malaysia. Ford Ecosport, the compact 5 seater SUV recently made its debut in the Malaysian market in August 2014 followed by the unveiling of the exquisite hatchback, Ford Fiesta ST 3 months later. In January 2015, Ford Motor Company reached its zenith in Malaysia and achieved a record sales output with an exponential increase of 38% in its retail sales. Ford Ranger, the dynamic pickup truck recorded an exceptional surge of 87% in retail sales year on year to 1169 units. Ford Malaysia envisages to launch the dynamic sedan Ford Mustang by the middle of 2015.
